Karen and Karl’s Santorini Wedding
Karen and Karl knew they wanted to get married in Santorini. After our initial consultation and understanding their requirements and budget, I identified Le Ciel as their perfect location. Situated in the village of Imerovigli, overlooking the Aegean Sea with the most magical evening sunset. The couple had many guests flying over from the UK, they needed everything to be taken care of, so guests had nothing to worry about. I arranged the flights and logistics of the wedding to take the pressure off the couple. Even down to the little details of arranging travel to the airport in the UK.
On the morning of the wedding, I arranged for the groom and guests to be collected from the hotels by a mini bus and headed to the venue with Karen and her father following in a wedding car. The ceremony took place on the outdoor terrace with traditional Greek musicians playing as Karen walked down the aisle. I added coral pom poms to the ceremony chairs to enhance the colour scheme and placed beautiful cream umbrella’s for guests. The couple opted for a legal Greek wedding ceremony and a poem read by one of the guests to add a personal touch.
Following the ceremony guests had a glass of bubbly whilst the photographs were taken. The wedding breakfast took place in the main room, which had mountain top views. I had organised table centrepieces and venue décor to be designed from our in-house team in the UK which decreased costs for the couple. Before guests entered, I ensured the venue was styled and ready for their arrival. The speeches took place with the beautiful backdrop of the sunset. A delicious four course Greek wedding breakfast was then served. After cutting the cake the first dance took place. The couple wanted to create a party atmosphere, so I arranged a playlist with the DJ and guests danced the night away. The mini bus then collected guests and took them back to Kamari were the party continued. It wasn’t possible for everyone to join the couple in Santorini, so I planned a UK Wedding party. We continued the party atmosphere from Greece with a sax player, DJ and incorporated lots of wedding traditions so UK guests did not miss out.
